My family went to the hotel for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was very good and there was a good selection of items, however, I felt that a 21% tip for a buffet was a bit extreme. I also do not think it is a fair practice to charge sales tax on the gratuity.
offer things no one else does. I only wish the Frank Sinatra would be expanded to include more than the Time Life greatest hit selection.
Love the Flanders! Just off the boardwalk so close to the beach. Big heated pool. On site restaurant with delicious food and nightly specials all through the summer. Rooms are a nice size, all have a small kitchen so you don't have to eat take out every day for every meal. The staff are very helpful amd friendly.
Really a great old hotel right in the middle of all the action on the boardwalk.
Great place to stay in OCNJ! Nostalgic and eloquent with modern amenities. Right next to the boardwalk and located in the center of all the action. Prices reasonable for what you are getting when compared to a motel.
Make sure you look for the hotels resident ghost, Emily. Such a sad story. There is a great history to this place. The decoration of the common areas is mostly period pieces from when the hotel opened up. We come every summer for about a week and are never ready to leave come checkout because it's a family friendly island...no bars or liquor sold on the beach and no smoking in the hotel or on the boardwalk.

The Flanders Hotel has no wedding venue equal. Karen Bergman and every one of her staff are true, diligent professionals. The cocktail hour with its delightful appetizers at the opulent Promenade was grand and exquisite, Garden Room was elegant and festive, the catering and food were absolutely magnificent, the entire staff were so very accommodating and cordial, our corner room was perfect with both ocean and bay views, my new bride and I just didn't want to leave!
