I recently sold our Ocean City, family Summer home using Berger Realty of the 55th Street office. I can highly recommend Berger Realty. Our listing agent David Hadtke, was, professional, diligent and always responsive. Office manager, Kevin Halliday, was very supportive and played a key role that made the sale happen, and Cynthia Henes, agent for the buyers, was also instrumental in helping the sale take place.
We have used Berger Realty for 5+ years for our summer vacation, with no issues until this year. Mold spores and an overbearing Mildew smell drove us out of our vacation rental on the third day. While sympathetic, Berger did not offer any assistance in relocating us and we were left spending the rest of our vacation squeezing in with friends. While our lease is with the owner and Berger is only the broker here, I feel they should have offered more assistance.
FYI, I would stay away from 5301 Asbury due to the mold conditions in the HVAC system.

Our rental home had an electrical fire while we were at the beach for the day (with 2 children and an elderly mother in law). I called Berger twice about flickering lights and unsafe extension cords overflowing with electronics, only to be shrugged off, and guess what? It actually set on fire. Glad we we were at the beach and not sleeping. We were displaced for a night and the owner of the property paid for us to placed in a hotel for the evening, and later moved to another property. We lost all of the food we purchased for the week, sheet rental costs, and valuable time. Our rental agent was unable to be reached for the entire day of chaos and Berger has no emergency contact number. We were told by Berger Realty that we would be reimbursed our food costs only to be treated like criminal mooches by Charlie Wigo (agent) when asked (repeatedly) to be compensated for our inconvenience (and possible death) he told us that all we bought were chips and lottery tickets (my kids were 2 and 4, we bought real food) and that the owner of the property thought she had done enough by putting us up in a crappy motel for a night. Terrible customer service. If you do book with them, make sure you get an emergency contact number.
