I was supposed to have my hair done in Philadelphia but decided that my roots were showing enough and it was time to get them done. I took a chance with Eleven and they were able to take me when I called. I had Phil and all was well. He assessed my hair and I made sure numerous times it wouldn't turn goldish/orange. He assured me it wouldn't and put the color on. I felt the color was on for an unusually long time but I wasn't familiar with the Matrix color line so I figured the professional knew best. When another girl washed my hair, I was shocked at the color in the mirror but figured it would get better when it was dry. Phil offered to blow dry my hair for free and did a great job. When I came home, my family asked why I had decided to go strawberry blonde. I have never been a strawberry blonde, nor do I ever want to be a strawberry blonde. I called today to talk to Phil about fixing it. He basically gave me a dissertation on the color wheel and what he used and how it's impossible to turn orange. Really? I don't care about the color wheel and the chemistry behind my hair. IT'S ORANGE. I asked Phil if he would be willing to fix it and he had the wherewithal to tell me his rate was $65. I said that it was absurd I had to pay for his mistakes and he apologized and said "he couldn't control what happens once I leave the salon" and that it was probably my shampoo...... Once again, I have been getting my hair done for years. I have been using the same shampoo for years. I HIGHLY doubt that my shampoo for color treated hair is what is turning my hair orange.
In short, unless you're the family member of one of the stylists, I highly advise going to a more reputable salon in Ocean City.
Let me preface this review by saying that I am a fairly laid back person who does not anger easily. I never send food back at a restaurant, when my furniture was delivered with scratches on it, I didn't have the heart to tell the guys to take it back to the factory. However, Eleven made me turn over a new leaf. A little bit of background:
I naturally have dark blonde hair which borders on a mousy brown and have been getting my hair highlighted for the past 10 years or so. Because of the slight showing of my roots right after highlighting, I decided to start having root touch ups. I have not had an issue with root touch ups WHATSOEVER. My stylist was able to flawlessly blend my roots and the highlights. I figured the process wasn't all that arduous, however, apparently I was wrong in my assumption.
